BIOGRAPHY AND INTERVIEWS Bio Born May 29, 1979 in Southern California, Abel G. Peña, a.k.a. "The Philodoxer," has lived in and around Los Angeles and Orange County all his life, save for an extended European sojourn during his twenties. His immediate heritage is Mexican, with doses of Austrian, French, and Italian thrown in for good measure. He is a seasoned traveler, having visited a fourth of the United States and 15 different countries. Abel received his degrees in literature and philosophy from the University of California, Irvine, making him classically trained to deconstruct your socks off. His favorite foods are pizza, mole poblano, Italian wine, rice krispies treats, and whey protein. Best known for his Star Wars work, a love of knowledge, experience, language, cultures, and ideas forms the backbone of all of Abel's writing. Syncretism is the name of the game.
